TRINITY HOUSE PAINTINGS | IMPRESSIONIST PAINTINGS
We are all keeping our fingers crossed and dreaming of a summer holiday this year. The oil above by Algernon Talmage, a wonderful British Impressionist painter reminds us of the nostalgia of the Great British Summer.
We continue to discover new works from beautiful drawings by Paul César Helleu to rich oils by Sir William Russell Flint and we continue to find new homes for them. We have featured a few in the article, but please jump on to our website to see the rest of our Impressionist paintings and modern British works.
On the other side of the pond, our colleague Zachary Hall has been flying the Trinity flag for us at The Palm Beach Show in sunny Florida. A huge amount of safety protocols were put in place for visitors and exhibitors with spread out booths and time slots for visitors.
Zachary was delighted to reconnect with our friends and clients over there and also to meet new faces. We showcased a fantastic selection of Impressionist paintings and works alongside a rich selection of contemporary artwork. If you missed the link earlier in the week to our collection, I’ve listed it below in Gallery News.

Hopefully, we edge closer to opening our doors again to you, until that time is upon us we will bring these beautiful works into your home such as ‘Hills and Valleys by Samuel John Lamorna Birch. A stunning example of British Impressionism. The colours are so vibrant depicting nature in all her glory which we have all appreciated so much more during this time.
‘Hills and Valleys’ by Samuel John Lamorna Birch. £12,500
We were all very jealous to hear and see via Facetime the beautiful Florida sunshine, a balmy 26 degrees. I’m sure the UK got up to those levels last summer, we got used to feeling that wonderful heat for many months! Let’s hope that we can make those summer holiday dreams become a reality…
We exhibited a strong collection of Impressionist paintings and works, alongside Post-Impressionist and Modern pieces by highly acclaimed artists from the 19th and 20th Centuries.
This includes works by Eugene Boudin, Louis Valtat, Henri Lebasque and Armand Guillaumin.

I wanted to recommend to you all a book in which perfectly depicts the life of Paul César Helleu. His work epitomises the charm and elegance of French culture at the time – the belle époque – with all its verve and focus on fashion.
PAUL-CÉSAR HELLEU BY FREDERIQUE DE WATRIGANT
During Paul-César Helleu’s lifetime, he was famous on both sides of the Atlantic.
A virtuoso of drawing and master of drypoint engraving he was also an exceptional painter and very much a part of the Impressionist movement. This is a wonderful book written by Frederique de Watrigant and we have had the pleasure of contributing to her research.
It is a fascinating read, with wonderful colour plates illustrating the many society women around the world who Helleu immortalised, including of course his beloved wife, Alice.
Thanks to firsthand accounts left by his daughter and research that has been carried out over the past fifteen years, this book follows the footsteps of this unique painter and brings together the important pieces of his body of work.
