Known for his skill as a landscape painter, Victor Charreton was born in Bourgoin-Jallieu, France in 1864. Though Charreton produced a large body of work, his focus on the changing of seasons and the quality of light is consistent throughout. The influence of Impressionism and Pointillism can be seen in Charreton’s use of colours and painting technique, yet his compositions remain unique. He died in Clermont-Ferrand, France in 1936, having spent most of his life painting in France.
