Glover is known for observational painting in his portraits and landscapes. His love for the great outdoors and for the skies above allow him to draw on inspirational moments to produce these works of art.
Glover attempts to capture those inspirational moments by interacting with the viewer with paint, colour and geometry. Painting is a cannon and an appreciation of past artists. Glover has drawn inspiration from Rothko, Joseph Albers, Annie Albers and Bridget Riley as well as the Islamic geometry found in Seville and Grenada, Spain.
British artist Leigh Glover studied at Oxford Brookes University and Heatherley’s School of Fine Art, London. Glover’s work has been in the exhibitions of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters (2008), Royal Society of Portrait Painters (2009), Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize (2010), BP Portrait Award (2011) and the ING Discerning Eye Exhibition (2014). Recently he was selected to be a heat participant in the television series competition Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year (ep.5, 2019).
