Although born in Finland Frans Tiger is considered a Swedish artist. A versatile and talented individual, he studied music at the Swedish Conservatory in Stockholm from 1870-1876, eventually becoming a music teacher at the Swedish Royal Naval academy. Although it is as an artist that he is best remembered, his finest works being sweeping summer landscapes featuring sparkling water and expansive skies with soft
cloud.

His works can now be found in public and private collections across the globe including in the permanent collection of the National Museum in Stockholm.
