Alexandre Sacha Garbell began painting at the age of thirteen. After completing his studies in Moscow , he arrived in Paris in 1923 and became a student at the Académie Ranson. Starting in 1928 , Garbell’s work was presented in Paris, in either personal or collective exhibitions.
In 1946 , Alexander Garbell went back to Paris where his work started exhibiting in major galleries. Starting in 1960, his work was exhibited abroad: in Denmark , Switzerland , England , Italy and the United States .
He died in December 1970 and is buried in Montry. Alexander Garbell has a son, Camille Garbell , who is a sculptor.
