The Northwestern wolf, also known as an Alaskan or Canadian Timber Wolf, is a subspecies of grey wolf found in the western regions of North America. Northwestern wolves are among the largest of the wolf subspecies, ranging from around 38.6 to 61.2 kg in weight.

With this in mind, Shadow was designed to mimic the weight and size of a real wolf. This is typical of Birchills Sculptures, who handcraft each piece with the upmost attention to detail.

Assembled from durable stainless steel salvaged from recycled materials, Shadow encourages us to reflect on the impacts of humanity on nature, and our own roles in protecting wildlife and the environment.
