Out Of Stock
In Stags Tony Berriman has depicted two stags as they lock horns. Using fine brushstrokes he has skilfully illustrated every single last hair on the male deer adding a tactile quality to the painting as if you could reach out and stroke them.
Rutting season (where male deer vie for the females) takes place in Autumn and here Berriman has used those fine brushstrokes to depict the scraggly dry grass. Additionally, a warm orange and brown palette has suffused the painting with the colours of the season.

Biography
Tony Berriman is a self-taught artist living and working in his home town of Macclesfield, Cheshire in the North West of England. A lifelong animal lover, Tony has travelled extensively through the forests of India and South East Asia, trekked across much of South America, and worked for a conservation organisation called Greenforce in Zambia Africa. He takes the inspiration for most of his work from the wildlife he has encountered both at home in the UK and abroad.
Berriman also paints portraits, both human and animal, landscapes, seascapes and vibrant skies. He works in a realist style, mostly oil on canvases in a range of sizes.
