Description

Heracles and Namea is from Salcedo’s series entitled ‘Gods and Goddesses.’ The group of paintings are abstract expressions of feeling, influenced by the writings of Homer. Salcedo hopes that his paintings will inspire an internal experience in the viewer.

Namea was the location of the fiercesome Nemean lion that Hercules defeated as part of his first task. Using a variety of tools, Salcedo has recreated the struggle between the Greek hero and the terrifying beast.
