Francesca Currie is a contemporary artist based in Cheltenham with a diverse portfolio spanning from portraits, photographs, equine works to still life paintings.

Her paintings combine traditional oil painting techniques with modern compositions. This is clear in ‘Fushia Peonies’. Curries stylistic approach creates a painterly finish yet the brush marks are precise and clean similar to the old masters. She creates a modern composition by incorporating modern objects to amplify the beauty of the natural aspects. She places beautiful peonies in a vibrant colour within a modern glass vase imprinted with a small heart. Paintings of flowers in vases are classic and elegant, Currie creates a modern twist to this traditional idea by including a simple but obviously modern vase.
