A contemporary piece made of oil paint and cold wax on wooden panel. Matthew mixes wax in to the paint to to add transparency to the material that he then scrapes and scratches to reveal the layers beneath. Each piece is named after the time he finishes, and the layers represent time building, with the markings offering little windows through to what has come before.

Matthew Goddard-Jones is a British born fine artist and photographer with studios in The Cotswolds UK and Chicago USA.
He graduated from The London College of Printing with an Honors Degree in Graphic Design. Then studied at The Pratt Institute in New York for his Masters.
He went on to become an award winning photographer, whose work has been featured in publications such as National Geographic.
Over the years, Matthew has found his expression through oil painting.
